Ingrid Onciul

Ingrid is a massage therapist with academic background in mental health. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and works for the NHS as psychological wellbeing practitioner.

She has always been fascinated by the profound connection between the body and mind and strongly believes in the power of touch to heal not only the body but also the mind and the spirit.

Her dual expertise in massage therapy and mental health allows her to approach each client with a unique perspective. She recognises that stress, anxiety and low mood often manifest in the body as muscle tension and tightness, pain and fatigue. By addressing these physical symptoms through massage, she aims to alleviate not only the bodily discomfort but also the underlying emotional challenges one may experience.

Ingrid's approach to massage therapy is always client centred. She will take time to actively listen and understand clients' concerns and goals and will ensure each session is tailored to their specific needs and preferences.

She strives to create a safe, calm, and nurturing environment where clients feel encouraged to relax fully and engage in the healing process.  Her main goal is to help clients achieve optimal overall wellness and relaxation so that they can thrive physically, emotionally, and mentally.

She obtained level 3 diplomas in Reflexology (2019), Anatomy and Physiology (2019) and Massage Therapy (2023) and attended courses and workshops in Acupressure (2020), Meridian Stretch (2020), Holistic Anatomy and Physiology (2020), Oncology Reflexology (2021) Deep Tissue Massage (2023) and 5 Elements Reflexology (2023).

Ingrid is committed to ongoing professional development in both massage and mental health fields, aiming to provide the most effective and compassionate care possible.

Ingrid likes to take an integrative and intuitive approach to therapy, where she will combine various techniques to meet the unique needs of each client. She provides 3 main massage modalities: reflexology, relaxation (Swedish) massage and deep tissue massage.

Reflexology involves applying light pressure on specific reflex points on the feet. Reflexology promotes healing and relaxation from within by encouraging the body to heal itself. It can help reduce stress and anxiety and it enhances sleep quality, creating a calming effect on both body and mind.

Relaxation Massage is a gentle form of massage that promotes overall relaxation and stress relief through light pressure and long, flowing strokes. The relaxing nature of Swedish massage can elevate mood, promote overall cardiovascular health, and improve lymphatic drainage.

Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that uses slow and deep strokes focused at stimulating the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Deep Tissue Massage is great for relieving chronic pain and muscle tension, breaking scar tissue and reducing inflammation.

"I attended a dozen reflexology sessions with Ingrid and found her to be a caring, understanding, and skilled practitioner. She was able to pinpoint and explain where problem areas existed and address them accordingly. I would not hesitate to recommend Ingrid to anyone looking for a positive healing experience."

"I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in July 2018. As my symptoms progressed, I experienced anxiety, depression and movement disorders which robbed me of sleep and the ability to relax. I was frequently in pain and discomfort.

I had reflexology sessions every two weeks. I should probably have had them more frequently. Having my feet manipulated was an agreeable and pleasant sensation which frequently left me with a sense of relaxation. My Parkinson’s related problems were substantially aided by medication and ultimately by deep brain stimulation (DBS) technology. My problems were severe and the reflexology made me feel better. If I had not been so seriously affected by the disease, I would have thought that the reflexology sessions would have been of considerably more help. As it was I very much enjoyed the treatment and derived relief and comfort from it. Ingrid is a very pleasant practitioner. I could not recommend her highly enough."
