Andrea is one of the very few practitioners in London of Traditional Japanese Medicine, a form of medicine which is directly derived by the ancient Japanese ‘Amatsu Tatara’ lineage, currently led by its Japanese Grandmaster, Soke Masaaki Hatsumi Sensei.
Due to its secrecy, this heritage has been protected by its grandmasters for countless years (especially during the years of the modernisation of the East when Western culture started to influence and alter Eastern traditions), and because of this safe-keeping effort, the Traditional Japanese Amatsu Medicine system still holds the most authentic essence of traditional oriental medicine.
Today’s Grandmaster Soke Masaaki Hatsumi Sensei, is the first grandmaster who have opened this heritage for the first time after centuries of secrecy, passing down the understanding of this traditional medicine in its most authentic way (the same way the previous Grandmaster’s lineage passed it on to him) to only four teachers in the world. Andrea, studied this Traditional system with two of these teachers, and shortly after qualifying he have also been qualified ‘Assistant Instructor’.
Since then, Andrea has been privileged enough to run a very successful clinic (counting international celebrities and VIP’s patients), also to be host on Seminars abroad, and to being directly involved in helping his teacher in his very prestigious School (currently one of the only two running schools of the authentic ‘Amatsu derived’ Traditional Japanese Medicine in the world).
The uniqueness of Traditional Japanese Medicine is that it doesn’t only contain one singular method of treatment (i.e. only Acupuncture, or only Massage, or only Cupping, etc), but it integrates a large number of treatment integrated together, to empower the healing response in an amplified manner. This method, can approach the body from many angles, allowing the patient to receive a wide range of healing approaches in the space of one single session (which would have otherwise required a much larger amount of sessions and costs).
The overall process is carried out in the most natural and organic manner, aimed to enhance the natural self-healing abilities of the person to take over spontaneously whilst restoring balance throughout the body in a coordinated fashion. Each treatment is designed around the individual needs of the patient (which makes each treatment’s ‘reception response’ unique from person to person), addressing the individual imbalances in a tailored manner.
A typical treatment process, includes an initial stage of Acupuncture work (lasting overall about 30m), which will be integrated with a range of Physical Medicine applications, designed to draw all the Acupuncture effects and boost them further whilst re-balancing the body in its entirety. Afterwards, Cupping and/or Moxa will also be provided, completed by a final Massage work. Post-Treatment exercises and After-Care advise will be also provided at the end of the session to guide the patient towards his/her Lifestyle & Wellbeing progression.
One session lasts around 45m of practical work, and circa 1h between Check-In & Check-Out time.
Patients are advised to wear lose clothings like baggy Tracksuit, or large Pyjama, or T-Shirt/Shorts etc., in order to allow full mobility during treatment.
