Vinita has seven years research experience in the department of physiology, University College London, London (1996-2003). It was only after the arrival of her son that she was intrigued by homeopathy, as it helped to cure her child from ailments such as colic and asthma. She then embarked on a degree course in homeopathy, giving her an understanding of the physiological processes underlying allergies and the use of appropriate prescriptions towards curing various allergies.
Homeopaths often see patients with long-term, chronic problems. As a system of medicine, homeopathy is aimed at treating the person, rather than the disease diagnosis, and as such can be considered in almost any ill health, where tissue has not been irrevocably damaged.
Most people visit a homeopath with a diagnosis from their doctor, and patients are encouraged to keep their medical practitioners informed as treatment progresses. Some people see a homeopath because they have side effects from conventional drugs, and others because conventional tests have failed to find the cause of their problem.
